Daniels Peer Mediation Team Participates in Aim for the C.O.R.E.
Last night, Saturday April 2, 2011, from 6:30-10:00 p.m., our peer mediation team set out to collaborate with Partners in Ministry and many other community organizations at Tivy Field. This was a family evening free to the community to share the 40 Developmental assets that are building blocks of healthy development that help young people grow up healthy, caring and responsible. Our team provided several activities at our booth that were related to Peaceful conflict resolution. The Hoola Hoop activity focused on working as a team to get the hoola hoop around everyone in the circle without dropping hands. The other favorite activity was making "peace" bracelets. Our students demonstrated how to make the patterns using the embroidery floss. They did a great job working and listening to others! Our students were given Aim for the C.O.R.E. t-shirts, back packs, bandanas and Taco Casa coupons for working our booth. One of our students completed a scavenger hunt and won a $20 gift card from Wal Mart. It was a great evening. I do want to thank the parents that stayed and helped. You are MUCH APPRECIATED!! We definitely have the Mustang Spirit!
