Challenge Lab 2013-2014: Welcome Back

I am delighted with the number of students that I have seen in my lab the first six weeks of school! I love it when you show mastery! All our study groups are off to a great start! First grade is been delving into the world of biomes. Here is a picture of us cmparing permafrost soil to normal soil.

I bet you can guess which one is the normal soil sample!

The second grade study group is diving deep into the Ocean topic.  We have completed about four different experiments.  The experiments focus on density, buoyancy and volume.  We will continue learning about waves and currents in the next few weeks!  Here is a picture of us working on our experiments!

    Dear Bloggers ,

Time sure does fly when you are being challenged in the Challenge Lab!  Some of the activities I will post actually occured in December of 2012, but, I do want to acknowledge the success and accomplishments of all the studentst that come to the Challenge Lab because of mastery in their academics.  I will also include pictures from the Habitat for Humanity Luncheon that our student council provided, pictures of some of the events in the study groups and in addition, I will include a link to the Prezi that some of our kids created in Appreciation of our School Board.  Click on the link and then click on the arrows and it will take you through our presentation of "Rising to New Heights!"  It really is a great overview of what is happening at Daniels!
I would also like to Introduce Liz to you.  She will be assisting me in maintaining the blog regularly!
Best Wishes for a Wonderful, Healthy and Successful New Year! More pictures will be added later on.
                                                                     Sincerely,
                                                                        Mrs. Marilyn Mitchell

Fun at the Daniels Garage Sale!

I was pleased to see so many of our student council members help at our annual Daniels garage sale!  Many had a full Saturday scheduled with sports or family activities and they still were able to get parents to bring them!  This garage sale benefits so many of the students at Daniels, it is a blessing to have faculty and staff work together to make this successful.  A big Thanks goes to Mrs. Torres for her love and labor she shows for all the kids at Daniels!  Please enjoy the following pictures.
